Day 3

8/5/2014

Wild morning skies, sun bursting through mist and clouds, creating dramatic patterns on the rocky walls all around us during morning climb. The sun won. A long afternoon downhill through forests where nature did battle during a 2011 winter storm. What moans and groans when 10,000 giants toppled and snapped, leaving me with a reminder of forces yet unleashed in me. Long, hot shower at Reds Meadow resort, re-supply-clean clothes. A rest for weary calves.
